Office XP tutorials

All application training offered by Computers of South Dublin was originally developed by distilling the following tutorials into course outlines, each short enough to be executed in a three-hour training session. It was assumed (correctly, in hindsight) that the typical home or business user would not be able to absorb more than that amount of information without a long refractory period of using the information on their own.

The criteria used to select topics for COSD instruction, in contrast to the expansive variety of tasks featured in the ECDL modules, were:

  • will this application feature be used continuously in the home or work environment?
  • does this feature save time, or tend to reduce human error?

The original source material from the Microsoft teacher training programmes is presented here. You are welcome to call COSD for training in your chosen application(s) and keep these documents as reference material. If you are self-motivated, you are also welcome to work through the tutorials on your own… just give us a call to schedule a training or support session if you ever get “stuck.” (NOTE: to read these you must have the Adobe Reader installed)
